Nearly half a century after the creation of the Heroic Military College (HMC), designed by Agustín Hernández in collaboration with Manuel González Rul, it remains a largely unexplored project. Due to its nature as military infrastructure, access has been limited, resulting in little exposure or recognition of the complex as a modern architectural reference. The opportunity presented by this exhibition opens the door to constructing a new narrative through a collective lens.

During the two days we spent exploring the HMC, the sequence of buildings that make up the complex gradually unfolded, revealing their monumental scale. My photographic documentation approaches the ensemble with the intention of understanding it as a whole. To that end, aerial photography using a drone became an essential tool.

This approach to such an iconic project seeks to capture its range of scales, recognizing it as a living organism in which its various components intertwine in perfect harmony. As such, my documentation presents the HMC from a panoramic perspective in relation to its surrounding context, down to a more focused view of each individual structure. Driven by its enigmatic nature, the visual record places special emphasis on those buildings that remain relatively unknown today and whose visual representation has yet to enter the collective imagination.
